Kamala Harris Reacts to Letitia James Indictment

Harris: “Look, sometimes the fight takes a while. And that’s where we are. And I say to all the friends here, look, this may get worse before it gets better. I mean — and by the way, let me just tell you, I was in Atlanta yesterday and said that. And then today, I learned that the attorney general of New York just got indicted, even though the prosecutor who first looked at the case, who I’m told is a very conservative Republican, said there was not enough evidence. And then Trump puts in place a incompetent person to make the decision to implement his vengeance agenda. But think about it. The attorney general of the state of New York has been indicted when a previous prosecutor who probably did not vote for her or me said there was not enough evidence. So I say to everybody, yes, I grieved that night and it has been a process of, you know, going through — in a cathartic process of going through writing about what happened, because I do want to make sure that as history tells this story and as American history is written on these 107 days, that my voice is present. But I also needed to write to process my emotions about what it was to get to the point of today, which is, like I think so many here, getting beyond the being overwhelmed and realizing we got to fight and we got to fight fire with fire.”
