Loyalty to Society, Part 1

In this video, I introduce the work of Dutch doctor and psychoanalyst Joost A.M. Meerloo as a point of comparison to the conclusions of John Cacioppo and William Patrick, authors of Loneliness, and psychiatrists Jacqueline Olds, M.D., and Richard Schwartz, M.D., authors of The Lonely American, and their combined views on loneliness. My primary concern here is to explore a more nuanced take on loyalty and its potential relation to loneliness in our current culture, but I wanted to first address the main book in question and its overall subject matter and tone.
