The World's Maximum Security Prison: CECOT (The Gang Prison in El Salvador)

Welcome to CECOT, the world's largest prison in terms of capacity in El Salvador, which was built to house the worst of the worst. Those who end up in this prison are doomed to never leave. It is the strictest and largest mega-prison in the world. It is designed to hold 40,000 people.
Built in 2022, this huge prison consists of eight separate modules located on 410 acres of land. Each pair of modules is surrounded by two separate 3-meter walls with barbed wire. The entire facility is surrounded by a 9-meter wall with a 3-meter electric fence carrying 15,000 volts. Nineteen watchtowers ensure that nothing escapes attention. The entire structure not only prevents escape, it erases the very idea of it.
