God Is So Good!

There are specific scriptures that we call pivotal because, in some way, the truth of what is said reveals the heart’s desire of our heavenly Father and Creator. These pivotal scriptures are often hidden in memorable events or prophecies. YeHoVaH will disclose the intent of His heart and show His will and desire, even though His love was frequently shunned in those biblical days. Notwithstanding, His love remains a strength for the believers of the future.

One such pivotal scripture is found in 2 Chronicles 5:11-14 when the Presence of YeHoVaH came most incomparably in the Old Covenant. This phenomenon laid a beautiful foundation for the New Covenant Presence of the Holy Spirit that moved from the natural priesthood to global Yeshua Messiah believers.

“When the priests came forth from the holy place
(for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard to divisions),
and all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar,
and with them one hundred and twenty priests
blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify YeHoVaH, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music,
and when they praised YeHoVaH saying,
‘He indeed is good His lovingkindness is everlasting!’
Then the house, the house of the YeHoVaH,
was filled with a cloud, so that the priests
could not stand to minister because of the cloud,
for the glory of YeHoVaH filled the house of God.”
2 Chronicles 5:11-14

If we focus on the phrase “He indeed is good - His lovingkindness is everlasting,” we can open the treasures of YeHoVaH’s love.

The Hebrew Tanakh says, “For He is good, for His steadfast love is eternal!”

When we read about this extraordinary event, we can see into the heart’s desire of YeHoVaH to be with His children – to surround and be surrounded by His delightful children whose hearts belong to only Him.

There are several key aspects to consider regarding the report of this occurrence.

The specific announcement of “He is good, for His steadfast love is eternal,” is a covenant declaration of YeHoVaH’s announced character. Think of it as an introduction of royalty into a room or meeting place where people await a king’s presence. Before the king enters a room of subjects, there is an announcer that declares his identity to the audience. In this case, the phrase “He is good, for His steadfast love is eternal,” is a declaration of YeHoVaH’s character and that His house had been made ready for Him.

Significantly, 120 trumpeters and singers are exclaiming in unison of YeHoVaH’s goodness and love.

These wonders were repeated in Acts chapters one and two when there are 120 believers in unity proclaiming Yah’s love. Both instances showed the portal of heaven being opened, and the Presence and will of YeHoVaH manifested upon the earth. Both describe His Presence powerfully.

Knowing that His love created all that exists, love voiced His great desire, and even nothing obeyed and became something. Love is of Elohim, and Elohim is love. (1 John 4:8) Just think of it. Love creates.

YeHoVaH revealed Himself to David in His lovingkindness (chesed-love-mercy) and His goodness. David sought YeHoVaH’s goodness amid terrible circumstances, and he found the substance of that goodness in all of creation. By the time Solomon built this grand and glorious permanent residency of YeHoVaH, David had been dead for years. But, the covenant that YeHoVaH made with David was still making its connection with YeHoVaH’s children, so the phrase used to announce the entering Presence of YeHoVaH is the precise words of various Davidic Psalms.

David sought YeHoVaH’s lovingkindness (Hebrew: chesed) in harsh, seemingly impossible circumstances, and he found the substance of that love flowing to him and through him to rescue him. It was from his immersion in that love that David composed the psalms by love’s divine revelation. He sang with all his heart,

“I have called upon You, for You will answer me, O El, Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech. Wondrously show Your loving-kindness (chesed), O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand from those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings.”
Psalms 17:6-8

David found his most desirable position or place - it was in YeHoVaH’s Presence - it was to be the focus of Abba’s attention.

Two Words Acclaim His Presence: “He is good, for His steadfast love is eternal!” Two important Hebrew words bring revelatory light to this great need we have for obedience - His Presence surrounding us. Good: [Hebrew: טוֹב Tōb] & lovingkindness, or mercy: [Hebrew: חֶסֶד Chesed].

When His Presence is passionately sought, His goodness [tōb] is released and manifested, and YeHoVaH’s love and mercy [chesed] shifts all earthly realities. The divine substance of His “good” surrounds the believer. The substance of His love protects against all harm, and both explode in the glories of His light.

“‘He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,’
then the house, the house of YeHoVaH,
was filled with a cloud, so that the priests
could not stand to minister because of the cloud,
for the glory of YeHoVaH filled the house of Elohim.”

Heaven broke through the veil that separates Heaven and Earth. This portal brought YeHoVaH’s Presence to Earth literally. The priests were overcome and became representatives of YeHoVaH’s Kingdom. To be in YeHoVaH’s Presence in a manner like this is the only obedience that has any meaning to our Creator. That obedience becomes a phenomenon in this world.

History tells us that YeHoVaH’s children rejected his “goodness” and His “lovingkindness.” They no longer wanted to be in His Presence. Too many people have reduced the rejections of Israel to ill behavior. The heart of the Holy One broke because they left His Presence, where they were assured of safety from wickedness working through them.

Messiah Yeshua is a beautiful portrait of Elohim, of YeHoVaH, and the Holy Spirit of God. Yeshua is a manifestation of the Father’s goodness. Yeshua’s works upon the earth are a manifestation of the Father’s lovingkindness.

Considering the pivotal verses above that describe the arrival of His Presence, we can see how YeHoVaH’s love broke through to us when His manifest Presence came in the form of His only begotten Son.
“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Yeshua, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.”
Hebrews 3:1

Because we believe in the manifest behavior - the obedience - of Yeshua Messiah, He adorns us eternally as the priests of His Presence.

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people,
but now you are the people of Elohim;
you had not received mercy,
but now you have received mercy.”
1 Peter 2:9-10

(1 Peter 2:5-6) (see also, Psalms 17:6-8): “You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood...”

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him...” describes His heart of love to surround and be surrounded by His people-children. As His children, we know Him, and we proclaim His “excellencies” – His “chesed – lovingkindness.”

What we hope to give you is another portal of His Presence that comes into every circumstance of life when a believer has the revelation of His goodness and His lovingkindness.

This is not about singing or saying the words. It is about the depth of the revelation.

From the midst of the revelation comes a wellspring of praise. That revelation describes that my Father is so, so good. His lovingkindness finds me – follows me – into the depths of every circumstance in my life.

When we say that He is good, we’re not telling anyone on earth about His goodness. We’re exclaiming our heart’s revelation amid every circumstance. The result is that rebellious and evil spiritual forces of wickedness can no longer usurp His glory - steal, kill, and destroy life.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10

Our obedience is manifest by coming into His Presence and remaining. It is phenomenal when He reveals Himself in, with, and from any believer.

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him
must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24
