Video 678 After a $24.6 Billion Dollar failed merger with Albertsons, Kroger is closing 60 stores nationwide over the next 18 months after a poor earnings report.
This could put 6,000-9,000 people out of work as each stores tends to employ between 100-150 people as cashiers, stock clerks, bakers, butchers, and managers.
Kroger now employees about 410,000 people before these closures. Kroger was founded in 1883 in Cincinnati Ohio and had more than 2,700 stores nationwide.
They also own the brands Ralph’s, Harris Teeter, and King Soopers.
