House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries just got schooled on live television after trying to blame Republicans for the government shutdown — and CNBC’s Joe Kernan wasn’t having it.

Kernan hit Jeffries with a dose of reality, reminding him that Republicans won the election and are simply advancing the legislation Americans voted for — including President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” When Jeffries tried to spin his way out, Kernan called him out directly: “That’s not how government works.”

Even CNBC’s Becky Quick joined in, pointing out that Democrats could reopen the government right now — but they refuse to. Instead, they’re prioritizing welfare for illegal aliens, repealing Trump’s tax cuts, and pushing their radical agenda over keeping the government open.
