Come Where the Lillies Bloom - Adoration at Pittsburg

A song that Adoration's Director, Jym Tayag, made fun of and disliked when he was a toddler in the 1960s upon hearing it in his boyhood church sung by the then Angeles City Church Choir which to him then was composed of all oldies.

Jym never heard the song again from anyone until a couple of months ago when a choir from the Philippines sang it at Stockton Church. Reminded of his childhood days, Jym felt inspired that the song could be beautiful depending on how it is sung.

Searching through the internet, finding only fragments of the song score, and surprised that it was a very old song, older than he originally imagined, published in the 1870s, he felt he could restore a complete score and revised some notes and create a richness and a wide range of dynamics and expressions according to his liking to serve as a teaching piece for his singers on a variety of dynamics, tempos, variations, and expressions. He was able to restore the song to this current rendition as sung by his own missionary chorale group - ADORATION.

In a world full of pain, suffering, sorrow and all sorts of worries, our longing for lasting peace is given a taste in the serenity of nature that God created for us to enjoy.

Original words and music written by Will Thompson, this song was sung in its present edition by ADORATION at Pittsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church on October 4, 2025. Directed by Dr. Jym Tayag.
