Protections to be boosted in Hauraki Gulf but some say it's 'not completely a win

The passing of legislation to boost protections in the Hauraki Gulf is being both celebrated and criticised.

The law - which passed its third reading in Parliament last night - extends existing marine reserves, adding additional high protection areas, but still allows some commercial ring-net fishing.
