Trump Asked To Reverse India Tariffs, Focus On Quad's Role in Indo-Pacific | Spotlight | N18G

A group of 21 US lawmakers urged President Donald Trump to repair ties with India and reverse his administration's steep tariff hikes. In a letter dated October 8, they warned that the 50 per cent duties on Indian goods are hurting both economies by disrupting supply chains and driving up costs for American consumers. The letter also highlights strategic risks, stating that the tariff dispute could push New Delhi closer to China and Russia, thereby undermining Indo-Pacific security partnerships, such as the Quadrilateral Security Alliance, or Quad. The lawmakers urged Washington, DC, to "recalibrate, not confront" New Delhi.
