Yahweh, My Defender | Psalm 35 Prophetic Song

✨ Psalm 35 is a cry of faith from the heart of David — a prayer for divine defense when injustice and betrayal surround the righteous. In this powerful prophetic song, David’s words become the voice of all who have been falsely accused, attacked, or opposed without cause. It’s not merely a call for vengeance; it’s a cry for Yahweh’s righteousness to prevail — that truth, justice, and divine vindication would be revealed in His timing.

This Psalm reminds us that Yahweh is not distant from our struggles. He is a warrior who fights for His people, a defender of the poor and humble, and a righteous Judge who exposes hidden deceit. When the enemy sets traps, God turns them back upon themselves. When our hearts are broken by betrayal, He restores our soul and brings joy again.

David’s response is not bitterness but worship. He declares that his tongue will speak of Yahweh’s righteousness and praise all day long. The prophetic essence of this Psalm points to the ultimate Defender — Messiah Himself, who bore injustice yet triumphed through perfect righteousness.

Let this song become a prayer of endurance and trust — a reminder that the battle belongs to Yahweh, and that He will rise to defend His servants who walk in truth.

🎵 Lyrics: Psalm 35 — “Yahweh, My Defender” (Prophetic Song)

[Intro]
Contend, Yahweh, with those who contend with me,
Fight against those who fight against me.
Take hold of shield and buckler,
And stand up for my help.
Brandish the spear—block those who pursue me.
Tell my soul, “I am your salvation.”

[Verse ]
Let those who seek after my soul
Be disappointed and brought to dishonor.
Let those who plot my ruin
Be turned back and confounded.
Let them be as chaff before the wind—
Yahweh’s angel driving them on.

Let their way be dark and slippery,
Yahweh’s angel pursuing them.
For without cause they’ve hidden their net for me,
Without cause they’ve dug a pit for my soul.
Let destruction come on them unawares,
Let their own net catch themselves.
Let them fall into that destruction.

[Chorus]
My soul shall be joyful in Yahweh!
I will rejoice in His salvation!
All my bones shall say—
“Yahweh, who is like You?”
You deliver the poor
From those too strong for them,
The needy from the hand of the robber.

[Verse 2]
Unrighteous witnesses rise up,
They ask me things I do not know.
They reward me evil for good,
To the bereaving of my soul.

But when they were sick,
My clothing was sackcloth;
I afflicted my soul with fasting,
My prayer returned into my own bosom.

I behaved as though it had been my friend,
Or as my brother—
I bowed down mourning,
As one who mourns his mother.

But in my adversity they rejoiced,
They gathered themselves together against me;
Attackers rose up and I knew it not,
They tore at me and did not cease.
Like profane mockers in feasts,
They gnashed their teeth at me.

[Bridge]
Lord, how long will You look on?
Rescue my soul from their destruction,
My precious life from the lions!
I will give You thanks in the great assembly,
And praise You among many people.

Don’t let my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me,
Nor those who hate me without cause wink their eyes.
They don’t speak peace—
They devise deceitful words
Against those who are quiet in the land.

They open their mouth wide against me,
They say, “Aha! Aha! Our eye has seen it!”
But You have seen it, Yahweh—
Don’t keep silent!
Lord, don’t be far from me!

[Verse 3]
Wake up! Rise up to defend me, my God!
My Lord, contend for me!
Vindicate me, Yahweh my God,
According to Your righteousness!
Don’t let them gloat over me!

Don’t let them say in their heart,
“Aha! That’s the way we want it!”
Don’t let them say, “We’ve swallowed him up!”
Let them be confounded together
Who rejoice at my calamity;
Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor
Who magnify themselves against me.

[Final Chorus]
Let those who favor my righteous cause
Shout for joy and be glad!
Let them say continually:
“Yahweh be magnified—
Who delights in the prosperity of His servant!”

My tongue shall talk of Your righteousness,
And of Your praise all day long!

[Prophetic Ending]
Yahweh, my Defender…
You fight for those who trust in You.
You break the snare,
You silence the accuser,
You raise the humble,
And clothe the righteous with victory.
You are my salvation—forever.
