Based on the William Gibson story, Johnny Mnemonic (Keanu Reeves) is a illicit data courier, who has a secret stash of information implanted into his mind. Various factions want that information, and will do anything to prevent johnny getting to his destination.They are prepared to literally chop johnny's head off.
As if that's not bad enough, the data he's carrying is too much for his mind to hold, and is beginning to leak. It will kill Johnny, if he cannot download it within 48 hours.
