VibeFoundry - One Stop Down | Southern Rock
She missed the train.
I missed the timing.
But I knew where it stopped next — and I had half an hour to make up for three damn minutes.
One Stop Down is a redneck rock story of guilt, grit, and a wild high-speed chase through a storm just to put one woman back on track — because her little girl was waiting at home. Ain’t no glory here, just rain, dust, and the sound of redemption under a V8.
This is more than a song. It’s a memory. And we hope you feel every second of it.

Lyrics:
We left a little late, but hell, I’d done worse.
Sun was out, road was dry, no sign of the curse.
She smiled, said “We’ll make it, easy ride.”
Didn’t see that train eat up her time.
Cruisin’ soft, just past the line,
Had fifteen minutes, we’d be fine.
Radio hummin’, no hint of rain,
Didn’t know I’d race a goddamn train.
Got stuck behind some limp old ride,
No passin’ lanes, nowhere to slide.
Red light blinked, I hit the brake,
She said, “My girl’s alone — no time to wait.”
We saw it roll — that train was gone,
But I knew the track it rode along.
She didn’t cry, she didn’t beg,
Just stared ahead like breakin’ legs.
I hit one-twenty through the hurricane,
Blind as sin, drivin’ through the pain.
Devil laughed from my rearview frame,
But I swear to God — I outran that train.
Wipers chokin’, sky went black,
Nearly spun out but I clawed it back.
She held on tight, didn’t say a thing,
And I prayed those tires would bite and cling.
She’s got a little girl waitin’ home alone,
Not sick — just too damn small to be on her own.
Sitter was leavin’, clock was near dead…
So I chased that train like my soul bled.
I hit one-twenty through the hurricane,
Blind as sin, drivin’ through the pain.
Devil laughed from my rearview frame,
But I swear to God — I outran that train.
Fifteen early at Jackson gate,
Same damn train, but I flipped fate.
She hugged me hard, said “Drive on, fast —
Mamas don’t get a second pass.”
Rain still fallin’, but I don’t complain —
‘Cause love’s what made me beat that train.
No glory ride, just wheels and rust,
One twenty… back through dust.
