Motorcycle Driver Critical After Being Struck by 18 Wheeler, GOODRICH, October 8, 2025 - At approximately 6:56 am on October 8, 2025, an 18 wheeler was north-bound on US-59. The 18 wheeler was in the left lane (fast lane), when the driver of a Kawasaki Motorcycle (in the right lane), pulled directly in front of the 18 wheeler. The 18 wheeler impacted the motorcycle knocking it off the road into the grass. The driver of the motorcycle was thrown off and landed on the pavement (he was wearing a helmet). The 18 wheeler pulled to the right shoulder a short distance ahead. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from The Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Corporal Ramey Bass with The Texas Highway Patrol. Names from this accident have not yet been released. The driver of the motorcycle sustained major injuries and was flown from the scene. The driver of the 18 wheeler was physically okay. All traffic on 59 (north-bound side) was blocked during investigation, flight operations, and cleanup. The motorcycle was recovered by LakeView Towing and will be stored in Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol. PolkCountyToday.com will update this story when names are made available.
