Easy and delicious Classic Coffee Cake recipe

1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Milk
3 TBSP Butter, melted and slightly cooled
1 Large Egg
1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 Tsp Almond Extract, optional
Dry Ingredients:
1 Cup AP Flour
2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Salt

Cinnamon Streusel Topping:
1/4 Cup Firmly Packed Light Brown Sugar
2 TBSP Flour
2 Tsp Cinnamon
3-4 TBSP COLD Butter, cut into small cubes
1 Cup Chopped Pecans, optional

Combine Sugar and wet ingredients, mix well.
Whisk together dry ingredients. Blend into wet mixture until there are no lumps of flour.
Make Streusel topping by cutting cold butter into the dry ingredients.
Pour batter in a well-greased 8x8-inc pan or 9-inch round pan. Top with Streusel.
Bake at 350F on the center rack for 20 to 25 minutes, or until edges are a light golden brown, pull away from the sides of the pan, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
