Day 281 – A Call to True Repentance — Zechariah 5–8 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

These chapters expose the heart behind God’s call to repentance. Through vivid visions and direct words, Zechariah shows that God isn’t impressed by empty rituals or outward appearances—He desires a people who act with justice, show mercy, and walk in truth. Yet, alongside correction, there’s hope: God promises to dwell among His people again and to turn their fasting into joyful celebration.

Questions:
1. How do Zechariah’s visions in chapters 5 and 6 emphasize both God’s judgment and His plan to purify His people?

2. In what ways does chapter 7 challenge us to examine the motives behind our spiritual practices or traditions?

3. What does God’s promise in chapter 8—to turn sorrow into joy and restore His people—teach us about His heart for renewal and redemption?
