Most of the American public don't give 2 cents anything outside US, 1st basically they are ignorant and second they just don't care.
Now why is that, because US govt ensures the general public has good quality of life, cheaper and more accessible energy, the best things to the people and thus, you have a flock of people who are entitled and best part, they don't realize or know Abt it too.
