Chaplain Ed Gazmen -
founder of Faith Ministries for Asia and Chaplains of Hawaii, co-founder of Lightbringers (feeds the homeless in Lahaina), president of Pointman International Ministries (ministers to vets experiencing PTSD).

Who would have known that a former bar owner would come to Christ? and have his whole life turned around for good by the power of the Holy Ghost!

After his bar closed down on Oahu and his partners absconded with the money, Ed came to Maui to start a new life. He didn't entirely leave the bar scene. He conducted financial services from 10 am - 3 am -- at the bar. But God in His great mercy sent Victor, a friend, and later a spiritual mentor, who often in the meetings interjected about Jesus -- Jesus is more than a church building, he said. He's your friend. He's your Savior. Jesus is there for you. Ed insisted he was a very religious man -- attending church twice a year, on Easter and Christmas.

One day, Victor invited him to a Christian Businessmen's meeting. The speaker said, apart from Jesus, you can do nothing. It was there that Ed gave his heart to Jesus. A group of men surrounded and prayed for him. In a few minutes, he felt like a gurgling or like boiling water from his stomach bubbling forth into words of utterance -- The Holy Spirit has truly transformed his life!

Actively involved in the community, Ed ministers to vets experiencing PTSD, teaches leaders about domestic violence, ministers to prisoners. Ed and Arlene have been married for 30+ years, have 4 beautiful children and 10 grandchildren. They attend Salvation Army and are available to preach and teach.

When asked what his walk with the Lord is like, Ed answered, "Exciting!"

His favorite Scripture verse:
Philippians 3:10 - that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.

Jn 4:14 Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
