The Kensington Treaty was meant to be a symbol of EU-UK unity. However, leaked documents allege Germany quietly agreed to take up to 500,000 migrants a year to relieve Britain’s migrant crisis - with no parliamentary vote or public debate. The Kensington Treaty, officially the Treaty between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Federal Republic of Germany on Friendship and Bilateral Cooperation, is an agreement signed between the governments of the United Kingdom and Germany. The agreement was officially signed by Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London on 17 July 2025.
