2025 Aesthetic Infinities
This video is a companion piece to the photobook now available. Using MidJourney.

This book began in Prague and with the rise of AI imagery—specifically, generating visuals through text prompts.

In spring 2025, I wondered how I might apply this technology to my photography. My first idea was simple: take an original photo, add a prompt, and see what emerged.

I turned to one of my books, The Portals of Prague, and began experimenting. Feeding the AI photos of Prague’s doors produced hundreds of fascinating low-res variations. What started as a small trial quickly evolved into a new goal: an AI-inspired version of the book.

The possibilities felt endless, almost overwhelming. To focus, I chose just one image—the front cover. Using a wide range of prompts, I generated 80–100 “seed” images. From those, I selected about 50 and pushed them further through other AI tools, creating 15–40 variations each. When I had enough raw material, I refined and upscaled the best results to print quality.

From this process, I chose 36 images for this book. Each is a composite: a final vision built by weaving together its many variations in Photoshop.

To me, this project became a kind of “guided hallucination”—a collaboration between my imagination and the AI. While much is said about the “AI revolution,” for me it has simply opened creative doors I never could have walked through before.

This is only the beginning.
