Hello, dear elephant lovers, welcome back to another challenging treatment mission carried out by our team to treat a large and aggressive elephant in need of urgent medical attention.

This elephant has been standing in the water for long hours.

At first, a few fishermen noticed the animal standing in the river every evening for about a week.

The presence of the elephant in this location poses a serious risk to the fishermen because it acts aggressively towards anyone who approaches it.

So, when the fishermen noticed the elephant's unusual behaviour, they soon notified the wildlife conservation office right away.

They mentioned that there was a huge visible abscess in its belly area and that the elephant only heads to the land to find food.
With the experience and the highly skilled expertise, the officials already knew that the elephant was in urgent need of help.
So, they rushed to the location with the necessary medicine and the equipment.
Usually, elephants spend long hours in the water when they are in pain. After monitoring from a distance, the officials had already understood that the elephant might be injured, which could be the reason for its unusual behavior. The constant pain and the flies around the injured area were also adding to his discomfort.
The doctor decides to sedate the male elephant. However, it is not recommended to sedate an animal in water, so the kind fisherman helped the officials guide the elephant to land. They used different methods, such as shouting and lighting firecrackers, to lure the elephant to the land. The firecrackers were used only as a distraction to guide the elephant, not to cause it any harm.
After being directed to the land, the elephant is darted with the necessary dosage of anesthetic drugs by a tranquilizer gun. The veterinary doctor determines the dosage based on the animal's body weight and strength level.

The sedation process was extremely challenging due to the elephant's aggressive behaviour.

As soon as the dart struck, the elephant rushed into the village, destroying many man-made structures along the way. The officials soon followed, ensuring that the villagers were safely moved and that no one was harmed by the angry animal.

It loses its balance and is about to fall. Yet manages to move again.

After closely monitoring the poor animal, officials confirmed that the massive abscess was caused by the elephant's contact with a sharp edge. The injury was not caused by human involvement, and such wounds are common when living in the forest with other animals.

They had to dart two doses of the anesthetic drugs to calm it down.
This treatment mission is shared with you purely for educational, entertainment, and awareness purposes, and to show you how these kind officials save a valuable life.
How can we identify and confirm that the male elephant is sedated?
There are a few obvious symptoms and side effects to look for:
The penis erection and the elephant may pass urine.
The head bends forward, while the trunk reaches the ground.
The elephant remains motionless, with flapping ears.
These factors are essential to confirm that the male elephant is fully sedated.
Now the officials began injecting the necessary dosages of Antibiotics, multivitamins, painkillers, and anti-inflammatory drugs intramuscularly. These dosages are decided by the veterinary doctor based on the body weight, the health condition, and the strength level of the animal.

Now it is time to treat the abscess.
"Please note, the following footage shows a real medical procedure on the elephant’s abscess. While it’s an important part of the healing process, some viewers may find it sensitive
As the first step, the officials squeeze the pus out of the abscess. The official uses a stick to remove the pus carefully, without causing further infection. This step is not to harm the animal but to treat it in the safest method.
Then, two tiny cuts were made on the abscess to clean it completely.
The primary objective of the technique is to clean the abscess and remove any pus or necrotic tissue.
Now, saline solution is injected into the abscess. Then, disinfectant solution is used to clean the abscess. He injects it into the abscess.
The doctor uses forceps and cotton wool to clean the abscess area more deeply.
Then, a syringe is used to inject a solution of povidone-iodine and negasunt powder into the cleaned abscess.
After the treatment process was completed, the revival drug was administered through a major vein in the elephant's tail.

They navigated the elephant to the forest, allowing the elephant to rejoin its herd.

The officials directed it using firecrackers and shouting. Any of these methods is used not to harm the poor animal but to ensure the safety of both the elephant and the villagers living nearby.

A ranger officer was assigned to monitor the progress of the animal.
That is the end of this challenging mission.

Thank you for hanging on till the end. We thank all of our viewers, the veterinary doctor, veterinary officials, wildlife conservation officials, the fishermen who informed us about the poor animal, and everyone else involved.

Let us meet again with another video captured while helping another poor animal.
