"Atāhkwêw Light Bearer" refers to the Cree legend of a sacred stag, or sometimes a deer, who carries the dying spark of the sun back to the people during a great winter. The legend describes how this spirit journeyed across the frozen land, bringing warmth and light back to a world threatened by darkness.
