Darfur war: How decades of conflict shaped Sudan's troubled history

The International Criminal Court is set to deliver a verdict in the first trial involving crimes committed during Sudan's Darfur conflict more than 20 years ago.
Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman, also known as Ali Kushayb, is accused of playing a key role in atrocities that left hundreds of thousands dead.
Many more were forced to flee the region which remains plagued by conflict.
