River Surfing, Pt2: Easy to Start, But Quite Risky

It doesn't require the upper body strength of ocean surfing, but you'd better learn balance in a wave pool, at least, before testing yourself on The Boise River. Also, sorry about "SE" from the last upload. The dam is SW of Quinn's Pond.

I didn't want to share a flop unless it had more value to it than slapstick. The guy who stood fully erect on his board, not realizing that he'd have to change his center of gravity toward the dam, cracked me up. He fell backwards relatively late, though, and seemed a little too aloof.

I have a video from "Spirit of Boise: Balloon Classic" that's only a few seconds long, from less than a month before I moved away. I titled it "20 Feet Over Myrtle Street". What I find funnier than the consequence of the down-drafts was that the fire-watchers who call themselves hot air balloon pilots were told not to go north. History and physics demonstrated that they had no say in the matter. I'd be surprised if full launches were allowed at all after 2017. They had tethered up 'n' down rides for paying visitors on the 1st day, which is exciting for the kids.
