At least 14 kids dead after taking cough syrup: Indian officials

At least 14 children have died after consuming a cough syrup, called 'Coldrif', in India's central state Madhya Pradesh, officials said on Sunday (October 5). A day earlier, the Health Ministry said samples of Coldrif Cough Syrup, manufactured by Sresan Pharma in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, were tested by state authorities and found to contain diethylene glycol (DEG) exceeding permissible limits.
