Why does an airplane flash at night and during the day?

✨ From the ground, it seems like the plane is just sparkling. But if you look closely, you can see: the lights blink differently and even differ in color. Let's understand their meaning:

🔵Navigation lights — green on the right wing, red on the left, white on the tail. They are constantly on and allow you to determine the direction the airliner is moving. Especially important in the dark and poor visibility.

🔵Strobe lights (flashing) — bright white flashes on the tail and wing tips. They are turned on before taxiing on the runway and remain active in the sky. They help other aircraft notice the plane from a distance.

🔵Landing lights — high-power devices under the fuselage, near the landing gear or under the wing, depending on the model. Used during takeoff and landing phases, they illuminate the path for pilots and help with orientation during ascent and descent.

Also, on the tail fin of our planes, the tricolor proudly "waves." It is highlighted by special lights on the stabilizer, which operate when flaps are extended, landing gear is retracted, taxiing, takeoff, and landing.
