The Minuterunners are desperate post-apocalyptic wasteland survivors competing in a brutal, televised hunt orchestrated by the Under State. Their goal? Earn enough "points" by hunting and capturing high-value targets—other survivors —in order to secure entry into the Under State, the last supposed bastion of civilization.

For the Minuterunners, the game is everything. Every second counts. Every kill, every capture, and every moment of survival is tracked by the Black Birds, the bioengineered drones that monitor the wasteland.
