Tenant Didn’t Pay $950 Deposit → Guess Who Keeps the Keys?

Move-in day is supposed to be exciting — but not when the tenant doesn’t show AND still owes money.

👉 Here’s the deal: I was scheduled to meet a new tenant today to hand over the keys. Problem is, they never showed. On top of that, they still owe $950 in security deposit. And let me be crystal clear: until that deposit is paid in full, they will not be getting the keys.

That’s how it works in property management — you don’t pay, you don’t take possession. I have the keys. They don’t. This is a problem for them, not for me.

💡 For landlords and investors: this is why strict policies matter. You never release possession of the property without full payment — otherwise, you open yourself up to liability, legal headaches, and lost income.

The sad part? They could have been in their new home today. Instead, they’re out until they handle their business.
