FLIPPING AROUND THE FM DIAL IN ST. LOUIS: October 2, 2025
In the news, the United States was shutdown. Again. Taylor Swift was releasing her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, as well as the movie. Although Starbucks is laying off hundreds of employees all across the country, costumers are excited about the pumpkin spice latte. St. Louis, the weather was hot. Let's give a few stations about 45 minutes to shine and sound local.

99.1 JOY FM (KLJY): It's yet another Christian music station that is a top 5 rated radio station (12+). Unlike many CCM stations where they sound, as one person described it, "light & airy", here we have midday host Jordan who sounds like a real personable DJ, talking about everyday stuff.

106.5 THE ARCH (WARH): The Arch is another "BOB FM" station with those clever pieces of imaging. But they also has DJs! It's the work day personality TJ playing everything.

KSHE 95: It's the legendary rock station for STL and current #1 radio station (12+) with a guy I remember doing afternoons on the top 40 radio station Energy 103.7 (KEGY) in San Diego, as well as WLS in Chicago, etc.... It's Tim Virgin rockin' afternoons on KSHE during Roctober.

92.3 WIL: Here's another station with historic call letters. WIL used to be a big time top 40 radio station on the AM dial back in the 60's. Now on the FM dial it's a new country top 40 with Marty Brooks doing the drive time shift. FOOTNOTE: I've noticed so far on all of my city composites of 2025, there has been at least one radio station talking about Las Vegas. Brooks does it on this aircheck mentioning the Sphere.

Y98 (KYKY) Jake is doing the 2-7pm shift on the Hot AC station...aka "the only Swifty Radio Station".

103.3 KLOU: Big Mike is playing the best variety of the 80's and 90's in the afternoon. But every so often I do hear them play a song from the 70's and 60's. In fact on this aircheck, we hear Mike playing a Van Morrison song from 1967.

Z107.7 (KSLZ): HaZe opens up his show stating the obvious for the drive home. It's all about Taylor Swift. It's a iHeart top 40 station so....yeah. And they will be playing every song off the new album, Life of a Showgirl when the album drops at 11pm, St. Louis time.

102.5 KEZK: It's the "perfect workday playlist" from the "80's AND today" Does that mean they skip over the 90's? Nope. Chase Daniels in afternoons plays the 90's and 2000's as well.

100.3 THE BEAT (KATZ): DJ Cuddy Montana plays the hip hop and R&B for the streets of STL. And he touches on a controversial video that went viral that made people shake their heads.

93.7 THE BULL (KSD): It's the other country radio station in St. Louis with Dusty during late afternoon/early evening.

96.3 R&B (WFUN): It's the Tony Scott show with DJ Quinn in the mix during the drive at five, playing the R&B of the 80's, 90's, and 2000's.
