For participation in the international defense exhibition IDEX-2025 in the UAE, the tank was first repainted in desert camouflage, then brought back and repainted again in a more suitable scheme, after which it was deployed to the SMO zone.

The vehicle’s layout, including the physical dimensions of the frontal armor plates of the turret with “packages” of special armor using reflective steel sheets (combined with 4S23 Relikt ERA elements) providing equivalent resistance of 1400 mm vs. HEAT and 930–1050 mm vs. APFSDS, is fully identical to that of the standard T-90M.

The ammunition load of the T-90M’s 125mm 2A46M-5 smoothbore gun includes:

– APFSDS round ЗБМ60 “Svinets-2” penetration 770–780 mm at muzzle velocity 1750 m/s.

– APFSDS round ЗБМ42М “Lekalo”, penetration 670 mm, muzzle velocity 1750 m/s

– APFSDS round ЗБМ42 “Mango”, penetration 500 mm, muzzle velocity 1700 m/s

– HEAT round ЗБК-18М, penetration 550 mm.

– HE-FRAG round ЗОФ26.

– 125mm ATGM 9M119M1 “Invar-M” with a range of 5000 m, semi-automatic laser beam-riding guidance, penetration 750 mm behind ERA.

– HE-FRAG round ЗОФ82 “Telnik” with programmable fuze, muzzle velocity 850 m/s, fragment velocity 1200 m/s, and (prospectively) capability to engage low-speed, low-altitude aerial targets (including loitering UAVs) using laser rangefinder data.

The tank is equipped with the multichannel gunner’s sight Sosna-U (thermal target detection range of tank/IFV-class target at 5000–5500 m at night, classification at 4000–4500 m) and the commander’s panoramic sight PKP PAN (“ПКП ПАН”) “Falcon Eye” (“Соколиный глаз”), with its line of sight raised 0.5 m above Sosna-U. This allows for earlier optical-electronic reconnaissance and detection of targets, while keeping the turret’s projection concealed behind terrain cover.
