Class VIII Course #8 Certainty of Standard Tech
[Warning! Contains OT III Data!]
Resume of Class VIII Tape 8 – “Certainty of Standard Tech” (October 1, 1968)
Introduction
Hubbard begins by emphasizing the purpose of the Class VIII course: to create auditors who can truly audit with certainty, using the exact technology, not opinions or alterations.
Listing Laws & Deadly Sins
Misapplying the laws of listing is a major technical error, dangerous enough to severely harm PCs.
Out-tech directly results in out-ethics, which then requires more ethics enforcement to repair.
Facts vs. Opinions
Hubbard stresses he is delivering facts, not personal opinions.
Opinions that deviate from standard practices (e.g. false ideas about floating needles or engram running) destroy auditing results.
Man’s Nature
Contradicting Christian doctrine, Hubbard insists man is basically good, not evil.
Auditing works because it subtracts aberrations and restores original goodness and ability.
Responsibility & Case Supervision
Auditors must not audit out of their own case or fixed ideas.
A Class VIII must also act as case supervisor, able to detect and correct deviations.
Proper reports and legible session write-ups are mandatory; false reports are intolerable.
Unsovable Cases & Out-Tech
Cases that appear “unsolvable” always trace back to out-tech: overruns, missed withholds, ignored R/Ses, or false reports.
Hubbard recounts examples where standard tech, once correctly applied, quickly resolved supposedly hopeless cases.
Squirrels
A “squirrel” is defined as someone who first goofs standard tech and then invents a substitute.
All unusual or resistant cases are the result of earlier misses in standard auditing actions.
Revelation – Hubbard’s Origin
At one point, Hubbard declares:
“I didn’t even get R6ed. I’m not from this planet.”
He uses this to underline responsibility: if he, not being from Earth, has taken it upon himself to help clear the planet, then those from Earth must share the responsibility and not leave it “all up to Ron.”
Case Supervision Principles
The supervisor must always hold certainty that standard tech works.
Supervisors must look for false reports when all remedies seem to have been tried.
Hubbard explains how to correctly handle “What has been overrun” lists and other technical corrections.
Workability of Tech
The true body of Scientology technical data is finite—just a few hundred fundamental points and about fifty processes, each with one correct application.
The “infinity” lies in possible mistakes and misapplications, not in the core data.
Closing Message
Standard tech applied exactly produces 100% results.
The duty of a Class VIII is to hold the line, reject squirrel practices and opinions, and ensure the road out remains open.
