The much awaited response to President Trump’s 20-point peace plan has finally been announced by Hamas. In their response, Hamas agreed to key points mentioned in the plan, specifically, the release of all Israeli captives, alive and deceased, according to the exchange formula mentioned in President Trump’s proposal.

President Trump posted the following commentary on the statement to his Truth Social:

“Based on the Statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE. Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly! Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that. We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East.”

Many have expressed either praise and discontent with the proposal, but what is lacking is a strong mobilization by citizens to support the only viable solution to the tragic genocide which has become the moral test for all of humanity, determine whether we as a human species can survive. The basis for long-lasting peace is through Lyndon LaRouche’s now five-decade old proposal to provide fresh water to the region through his Oasis Plan, which would ensure the prosperity of all inhabitants, both Israeli and Palestinian in the region.

This must be called for in the context of a new security and development architecture, which would replace the existing rules-based order created following the collapse of the Soviet Union, which has only ensured misery for the developing sector, through endless wars, sanction, and crushing debt.

In today’s program, Harley Schlanger will review key aspects of the developments in Southwest Asia, and the solution to break the cycle of tragedy which has caused the death of at least 65,000 Palestinians, but likely much more.
