What’s goin’ on SGT Rock Army!? Well, to say these past 10 days have been interesting would be an understatement. I ended back up in the ER, almost died, and now I’m brought back to the life of being your content creator. I can’t thank everyone enough for their outpouring of support and prayers! Now that I’m back home, we bring you the Rougarou Chronicles. With friends of mine working on the show with me from Louisiana, they are well-aware of the Legend of the Rougarou! Buckle up, cher—here are three spine-tingling, real-life run-ins with the Rougarou, straight from the whispers of Louisiana locals who've stared into the glowing eyes of the bayou's nightmare. These tales remind us why the swamps never sleep easy.

1. The Highway Shadow (I-49, March 2022)
Under the glow of a full Worm Moon, a driver cruising down I-49 near the Louisiana backwoods caught a blur in the headlights—something massive, upright on two legs, loping across the asphalt faster than any animal should. It stood taller than a man, furred and hunched like a nightmare from a Scooby-Doo episode, vanishing into the treeline before the tires could screech. The witness, shaken, later connected the dots when her son brought up the Rougarou legend. No bloodhounds or gators move like that; it was a brush with the cursed wanderer, leaving her swearing off midnight drives.

2. The Houston River Stalker
A visitor to a friend's swamp-side cabin along the Houston River—a tangled, misty stretch where the water laps at your boots—stepped out for a smoke one humid night. The air went dead silent, save for a low, guttural growl that vibrated through the cypress knees. Peering into the murk, they locked eyes with a hulking figure: human-shaped but wrong, with a wolf's snarling maw and red embers for eyes, claws scraping bark as it prowled just beyond the lantern light. It didn't charge, but the stench of wet fur and rot lingered till dawn. The group bolted inside, hearts pounding, knowing they'd trespassed on the Rougarou's hunting grounds—and lived to hush about it.

3. The Livestock Ripper of Terrebonne Parish
In the fog-shrouded marshes of Terrebonne Parish, where the bayou twists like veins, a rancher woke to screams that weren't gator or owl. His prize cattle lay shredded, throats torn clean, but no tracks from coyote or boar—just massive, clawed prints sinking deep into the mud, leading to the water's edge. That same night, under a sliver of moon, he glimpsed it: a beast-man hybrid, hunched over a kill, head thrown back in a howl that chilled the blood and rattled the Spanish moss. Folks say it was the Rougarou claiming tribute, a warning to those who overhunt the wild. He scattered 13 pennies at his door after that, and the raids stopped—but the nightmares? They howl on.

Next time you visit Louisiana, talk to any local…we’re sure they have a story to tell and let’s be honest, wouldn’t this make a great mini-series during the month of October? I think it would. Again, thank you all so much for your devoted love from family and friends while I was on the rough spot. Now, we move on from it and lift all things to the Almighty for long life and new beginnings.
