On December 6, 1991, Austin, Texas was forever changed when four young girls were brutally murdered inside an “I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt” shop. For more than 34 years, the case haunted families, investigators, and the community.

When we first covered this case, it was one of the most chilling unsolved murders we had ever shared. Now, after decades of frustration and heartbreak, there has finally been a breakthrough. Thanks to advancements in DNA testing and the tireless work of the Cold Case Unit, investigators have identified serial killer Robert Eugene Brashers as the man responsible.

This update looks at the crimes, the wrongful accusations that derailed justice, the new forensic evidence that solved the case, and the impact this resolution has on the families who never stopped fighting for the truth.

The Yogurt Shop Murders remind us that no matter how much time passes, it is never too late for justice.
