THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD! As many of you know, Ace Metaphor and I have a very cordial relationship as professionals, peers and colleagues, despite our sharp ideological differences regarding what else?--Black women. Some have scratched their heads over this, the irony of it all - but stranger things in life have indeed happened. Perhaps one of the more stranger things to come down the pipe was earlier this summer, when Ace hosted the infamous Princella Clark, known to some as the (so-called) "Queenmaker" on his "Summer Series" of events around the country. I stumbled on this bit of information by way of Ace's "Tonight's Conversation" app, and was bemused, but I cannot say surprised to see Princella turn up on the dais. After all - and despite her many foibles - she represents the voice of deeply hurt and aggrieved Black women out there - and Ace's core paying the bills audience also happens to be hurt, aggrieved Black women in the main - so it makes sense for him to host such a polarizing figure whom Black women more or less rally around. What's interesting to me about Princella is how she is able to dole out advice about Black men when it is clear and a matter of public record that she has failed at being married to one(!), and has no notable track record of achievement in even being in a long standing relationship with one either(!) - yet more proof that Black women have a penchant toward flocking to those least qualified in the areas they claim to want advice and counsel in(!). Oh well, let's close out the work week with this one, shall we? LOL, you just cannot make this stuff up!
