A demonstration of biometric services for passenger check-in and boarding took place at the airport.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Grigorenko, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, Chairman of VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Kirill Polyakov, Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko, Chairman of the Transport Committee Valentin Enokaev, as well as the General Director of the airport management company Leonid Sergeev.

⚡️ Pulkovo became the first airport in Russia where the Ministry of Digital Development is testing this technology.

How does it work?
Passengers on domestic flights who have registered their biometrics will be able to pass identity control without a passport, simply by showing a QR code on their boarding pass.

When can you try it?
Testing will continue until the end of 2025. In 2026, the service will be available to a limited number of users in pilot mode. Biometrics will also be used for flight check-in and boarding. Today, this technology is already used for access to Pulkovo's business lounges.
