Socrates, a greek philosopher, is best known for his association with the Socratic method of question and answer, his claim that he was ignorant (or aware of his own absence of knowledge), and his claim that the unexamined life is not worth living, for human beings. The impact of his life was all the greater because of the way in which it ended: at age 70, he was brought to trial on a charge of impiety and corrupting the youth, sentenced to death by a jury of his fellow citizens.

There are two major names that stick out to me in Socrates life: Apollo and Diotima.

The Greek god Apollo says that no man is wiser than Socrates.
Greek God of the Sun, the Light, the Music and Prophecy:
Apollo is one of the most complex and important gods, and is the god of many things, including: music, poetry, art, healing, oracles, archery, plague, medicine, sun, light and knowledge.

Diotima is a high Priestess of a mystery religion. She taught and initiated Socrates into the sacred and cosmic mysteries of beauty and love.

There is a Greek myth that says we all once had four legs and two heads. As evil started to take over us, we ended up getting out of control, the gods didn't like it and sent a bolt of lightning to strike us and split us in half. Our heads were turned backwards. The god Apollo then tied our skin where we were split, which is where our bellybutton is now and turned our heads around to be able to see our bellybutton to remind us what we lost. Our other half.
