The Multiplication of Israel and Egypt’s Oppression

Exodus 1 reveals how the children of Israel multiplied greatly in Egypt, becoming a strong and numerous people. In response, Pharaoh oppressed them with hard labor and commanded the death of the newborn Hebrew boys. Yet, the people continued to grow, showing God’s faithfulness even in the midst of affliction.
