Messiah (משיח) Mashiaḥ/Mashiach in Long ELS Bible Code in the Book of Genesis: (מרי עם שעל משיחי)

When contemplating the concept of Equidistant Letter Sequences (ELSs), eventually one may observe and arrive to the idea that one could extrapolate the skip distances (d) of the a priori anchor terms, in both positive (+) and negative (-) directions, in search of longer phrases and text strings, e.g.:

1. “[a] Messiah (i.e. an anointed one)” (משיח) “Mashiaḥ”
2. "The Messiah" (המשיח) "HaMashiaḥ”
3. "My Messiah" (משיחי) "Meshiḥi"
4. "Who [is] the Messiah?" (מי המשיח) "Mi HaMashiaḥ”
5. "Who [is] My Messiah?" (מי משיחי) "Mi Meshiḥi"

Thus a new aspect of Torah (Bible) Codes research can be unfolded: not only minimal skip distances (d), and not only groups and clusters, but also extrapolated “skip distance (d) text strings”: (d)-strings, and (d)-string ELS matches.

It will be proposed here that this latter phenomenon of extrapolated “skip distance (d) text strings” (as discussed by Edwin R. Sherman (2004; 2005)) that are then joined together to form (d)-strings – and within which are found (d)-string ELS matches – is a manifestation and expression of Rabbi Cordovero’s description:

“1 Gate 30 [is] called the Gate of Joining [something together]. 2 The knowledge of secrets of our Holy Torah is by means of the joining [together of letters], and the gematrias, and the permutations, and the first-letter abbreviations, and final-letter abbreviations, and middle-letter abbreviations, and beginnings of verses, and ends of verses, and skipping of letters, and joining [together] of letters.” – (Pardes Rimonim, Gate 30:1-2).

Professor Eliyahu Rips (ז”ל) explains that in general, as the length (k) of any ELS search term increases, the chance for its appearance decreases strongly in/by order of magnitude, i.e. it becomes more difficult to find. Depending upon the exact composition of letters of the ELS term (as some letters are statistically more common than other letters), and depending upon the skip distance (d) range set by one who searches in the text of the Torah (Koren Codex: 304,805 letters), Professor Rips articulates the following general rules:

1. For any word of 4-5 letters in length (k), one can expect to find many thousands of appearances.
2. For any word of 5-6 letters in length (k), one can expect to find hundreds of appearances.
3. For any word of 6-7 letters in length (k), one can expect to find tens of appearances.
4. For any word of 7-8 letters in length (k), one can expect to find a few appearances.
5. For any word of 8-9 letters in length (k), there is doubt that it will appear at all.

Therefore, it is possible to extrapolate and understand from this that as ELSs increase in size beyond the size of 9-10+ letters, that they may be considered statistically as increasingly impossible to find, and thus of higher statistical significance (if they are found and measured) than smaller-length (k) ELSs (when considered in isolation).

Remember: for 2D Matrices, the laws of Cartesian 2D Algebra apply, including the formula:

y = mx + b

HEBREW WORD/PHRASE: (משיח) “Mashiaḥ” - (n, d, k): (726, 89, 4)

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: "Messiah"

Although it is not the smallest skip distance (d) in the positive (+) direction at (+89), the first positive (+) ELS match appearance of "Messiah" (משיח) "Mashiaḥ" is found in the 1st Book of the Torah (Genesis), chapter 1, verse 16, in the 2nd word of the verse, and starting from the 5th letter of that word, "GOD" (אלהים) "Elohim", i.e. Mem (מ / ם), which is the 9th letter of this verse Genesis 1:16.

(n, d, k): (726, 89, 4); LetterID: (1, 1, 16, 9, 726); WordID: (1, 1, 16, 2, 186);

HEBREW: (ויעש אלהים את שני המארת הגדלים את המאור הגדל לממשלת היום ואת המאור הקטן לממשלת הלילה ואת הכוכבים)

TRANSLATION: "And Elohim made the two great lights – the great light for the government of the day, and the small light for the government of the night, and [He also made] the stars." (Genesis 1:16)

One can extrapolate this skip distance (d) forwards to find the following ELS:

HEBREW WORD/PHRASE: (משיחי) "Meshiḥi" - (n, d, k): (726, 89, 5)

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: "My Messiah"

HEBREW WORD/PHRASE: (מרי עם שעל משיחי) "Meri 'Am She-Al Meshiḥi" - (n, d, k): (14, 89, 13)

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: "A rebellion of a people that [is] upon My Messiah."
