Following a series of military victories in the Serebryansky forestry, the Russian military initiated an offensive campaign in the west throughout September.

In the central sector, the RF Armed Forces successfully cleared the center of Shandrigolovo and initiated combat operations in Derilovo. On the southern flank, the 25th Army's stormtroopers advanced towards Yampol.

The following section will provide a detailed analysis of the progression of the battles near Liman.

By September 29, military units of the 25th Army had established defensive positions on the northeastern outskirts of the populated Yampol area.

Additionally, after a certain period, the southern part of Zarechny was cleared. The enemy maintained a presence in the area for a period exceeding one month; however, the RF Armed Forces ultimately succeeded in driving them back to the west.

By that time, the 144th Motorized Rifle Division, which was advancing southward, had successfully driven the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the majority of Shandrigolovo.

Presently, the stormtroopers persist in their offensive operations in the vicinity of Drobyshevo, a strategic location that would sever the Liman garrison's northern supply chain.

On the northern flank, Russian units advancing from the recently liberated Zeleny Gay successfully cleared several major enemy strongholds on the approaches in Borovskaya Andreevka. The battles are occurring in close proximity to populated areas, with the liberation of these regions paving the way for further advancement towards Novoplatonovka near Oskol.

The gradual approach of the front to Liman has garnered the attention of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command. The opposing force subsequently relocated its reserves to the southern flank of the area in question and initiated a counteroffensive in the Zarechny and Yampol regions.
