What was once a children’s franchise full of action and robot adventures has now turned into a vehicle for ideological propaganda. The new series Transformers: Earthspark, available on Netflix, has sparked controversy for explicitly promoting gender ideology in a program aimed at minors.

The clearest example is the character Nightshade, a Transformer who rejects traditional pronouns “he” or “she.” In one episode, the character openly states: “He or she doesn’t fit who I am. My pronouns are they/them.” A scene that, far from being innocent, has been seen by parents and critics as an attempt to normalize gender confusion in children at formative ages.

This has raised concerns among conservative groups and families who are alarmed by how entertainment companies are using animated shows to push concepts unrelated to childhood fun. Why impose such messages on kids’ programming when the series could simply focus on universal values like friendship, courage, or justice?

The issue is not small: it’s part of a growing trend in Hollywood and streaming platforms, where children’s shows are increasingly used to advance ideological agendas. Transformers: Earthspark is no exception, and the fact that the script so naturally introduces pronoun debates proves this is not a coincidence but a deliberate plan.

Critics argue that this type of content not only confuses children but also undermines parents’ rights to decide how and when to discuss such complex topics with their kids. What is marketed as “inclusion” often becomes indoctrination disguised as entertainment.

Some parents are even canceling Netflix subscriptions, saying they refuse to pay for shows that promote values contrary to the upbringing they want for their children. Social media has seen hashtags like #LeaveTheKidsAlone, #TransformersEarthspark, and #GenderIdeology spread widely, with thousands denouncing what they view as a betrayal of family trust.

The debate remains open: should children’s shows serve as tools of political and social activism? Or should they simply entertain without pushing ideologies? One thing is clear—Transformers: Earthspark is no longer just a robot show for kids but part of a much larger cultural agenda.
