Pete Hegseth Marks a Turning Point at the Pentagon: “We’re Done With That Garbage”

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth delivered a forceful message, distancing himself from the progressive agenda that, for years, permeated the armed forces. In a speech filled with determination, Hegseth flatly rejected identity politics and diversity-related programs that, in his view, weaken the central mission of national defense.

“No more identity months, DEI offices, guys in dresses. No more climate change worship,” he declared, referring to initiatives tied to gender equity, diversity, and the emphasis on environmental issues within the military.

The Secretary was even more blunt, stating: “No more division, distraction, or gender delusions. No more garbage. As I’ve said before and I’ll say again, we’re done with that shit.”

Hegseth’s words highlight a radical shift in priorities within the Department of Defense under the current administration, which seeks to move away from what he calls “distracting the armed forces with ideologies,” refocusing the military on its core mission: readiness, discipline, and combat effectiveness.

With this message, the Pentagon positions itself in strong opposition to the progressive policies applied in recent years, sending a clear signal that the new guidelines will prioritize unity, strength, and operational focus over social or cultural ideologies.
