My Daytime Coyote Rig: 22 Creedmoor Crux Build & Barrel Life | On The Bench

Wade breaks down his personal daytime coyote/varmint rig: a lightweight 22 Creedmoor bolt-action built on a Crux (Remington 700 footprint) action, 16″ Bartline 1:9 twist barrel, Geissele two-stage trigger, Greybo Phoenix chassis, and a Swarovski Z6i 2.5–15x44 optic. In this episode Wade covers why the 22 Creedmoor works for daytime predator hunting, cartridge and bullet choices (60–69gr sweet spot in this short barrel), the rifle’s ergonomics and weight-saving features (light fluting, Sendero contour), and real talk on barrel life, plus a planned barrel lapping/polish test to squeeze more rounds out of it.

What you’ll hear:
• Why Wade likes the Crux action and how it improves on the Rem 700 footprint.
• Barrel, twist, and bullet performance for 16″ 22 Creedmoor varmint rigs.
• Suppressor choice and setup: Dead Air Nomad Ti fitment and considerations.
• Magazine setup (+2 MK machining insert with Magpul PMags) and field utility for daytime predator hunts.
• Plans for barrel lapping/polishing and what to expect when a 22 Creed barrel starts opening up (~1,500–1,600 rounds).
