But Wait…There's More: 'Iowa Educator' Ian Roberts' Academic Record Unravels Along With Sketchy Past

Posted • October 2, 2025: In the case of illegal alien and great Black educational hope "Dr." Ian Roberts, the former Des Moines School Superintendent, who on Friday was apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on a removal order, the plot is thickening like a properly made custard. As RedState reported, after ICE detained Roberts, Jackie Norris, the chair of the Des Moines School Board and Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate, called for "radical empathy" until all the facts were out concerning Roberts and his record. Not all the facts are out, but we now know enough of them to surmise that either there were a whole bunch of people who were hoodwinked and bamboozled by this con man, or a whole bunch of people turned a blind eye. My bets are on the latter. The Des Moines School Board met again on Tuesday in order to address the latest set of facts received, and to discuss Roberts' resignation submitted through his attorney. The board voted unanimously to accept the resignation. It's amazing how procedure and verification matter after the fact.

🚨 Des Moines Public Schools Chair Jackie Norris has confirmed that Superintendent Ian Roberts failed to provide proof he was legally eligible to work for the district — and the board has now moved to accept his resignation. Norris: “He did not provide the board with the information we requested. The school board made the difficult but right decision given the circumstances.” The red flags were obvious from the start. The board ignored them and hired him anyway. This isn’t just a mistake — it’s dereliction of duty. The entire board should resign in shame. —— In a Tuesday press conference, Roberts' attorney Alfredo Parrish said Roberts is being held at a jail in Sioux City, Iowa, and Parrish said that his firm has filed a request for stay of Roberts' deportation order in the Omaha, Nebraska, federal immigration court. Parrish then confirmed Roberts would indeed resign from the superintendent position. (…)
