This is the 10th Prelude of Volume 1 of Debussy’s Preludes for piano.

This piece depicts the rising of a submerged cathedral. It is derived from a Breton myth. The cathedral, according to legend, rises from the sea off the coast of the Island of Ys on clear mornings. After its entrance, the cathedral sinks back into the sea.

This arrangement by Richard Byrnes is for 3 Piccolos, Flute, 5 Clarinets, 2 Bass Clarinets, Contralto Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, & Contrabassoon.
