🐟 🎣 Blackfish Seabass Standoff Rig 🐟 🎣
9/28/2025 heading out today to do some scouting for blackfish in the area. The “Standoff Rig” is my go to rig for blackfishing. I learned it years ago when I joined a fishing club in the Mt Sinai area. In the video I snell 40lb leader material to a 4/0 Owner hook. On the other end, I tie a perfection knot. The length of the hook in the video is approximately 7 inches, but you can adjust it as need be. Then I take a second piece of leader material, bend it over and lay it on top of the perfection nut and make 11 turns securing the hook to the leader and once again tying a perfection for my sinker with a breakaway, knot just above the sinker perfection knot. With some practice, I think you will be able to become proficient in tying this rig. Special thanks to my videographer Anne who recorded me. I hope you enjoy the video and good luck fishing this blackfish season
