Two California sisters, missing for 36 years, have been found alive in Ventura County, California, after being raised by foster parents under new names.

Jasmin and Elizabeth Ramos were just infants when their mother, Marina Ramos, was murdered in Mohave County, Arizona, in 1989, and the girls were abandoned days later in an Oxnard park restroom.

Using familial DNA, Arizona investigators traced the sisters to their foster family, NBC News has reported.

While the sisters’ safety has been restored, authorities continue searching for Marina Ramos’ killers and are asking the public for information about the men last seen with her and the girls at the park.
