Halloween is not merely a cultural festival; it is a survival of paganism and a parody of Christian truth. For the Orthodox Christian, fidelity to Christ means rejecting it entirely. As Saint Paul declares: “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them” (Ephesians 5:11).

Let us therefore turn away from the falsehood of Halloween and instead embrace the light of Christ, the joy of the Saints, and the eternal victory of the Resurrection. In doing so, we bear witness — like the martyrs — that life in Christ is stronger than death, and that no darkness can overcome the Light of the world.
