America’s First 100% Muslim City
In Dearborn, Michigan America’s first majority Muslim run city calls of “America must fall,” political posters pushing Islamic candidates, and Mayor Abdullah Hammoud’s controversial remarks spark urgent debate over immigration, assimilation, and national security
A viral clip from Dearborn, Michigan, showing a speaker declaring “America must fall,” has reignited debates on immigration, national security, and cultural integration. The clip, originally translated and published by MEMRI TV, came from an April 2025 event hosted by the Palestinian Youth Movement at a Dearborn Heights café. With Dearborn’s population now majority Muslim, the video quickly gained over 42 million views online, fueling arguments over demographics and political identity.
Controversy has also grown around Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud’s sharp response to a resident during a September 9 city council meeting. When Ted Barham objected to renaming a portion of Warren Avenue after Arab American publisher Osama Siblani—citing Siblani’s past comments praising Hezbollah—Hammoud told him he was “not welcome” in the city. Hammoud later defended his remarks, refusing to apologize while emphasizing diversity and blaming the media for sensationalizing the exchange. The renaming has divided opinion, with supporters honoring Siblani’s decades of Arab American advocacy and critics pointing to his controversial past statements. Across Dearborn, political posters of Muslim candidates running for local office reflect the city’s shifting representation and growing influence.
In other major news, former FBI Director James Comey was indicted by a federal grand jury in Virginia on charges of making false statements and obstruction of justice tied to his 2020 Senate testimony. President Trump, who had long accused Comey of misconduct, celebrated the indictment, calling him a “dirty cop.” Comey denied wrongdoing and released a video declaring his innocence, while legal experts questioned the constitutional validity of the charges.
Meanwhile, Detroit rapper Dank Demoss (Dajua Blanding) settled a high-profile weight discrimination lawsuit against Lyft after a driver refused her service, saying she was “too heavy” for his car. The settlement, though confidential, was used to purchase a custom chauffeur-driven van. The case sparked debate over discrimination law and corporate accountability, with critics arguing it reflects a troubling precedent.
