One Battle After Another - A HORRIBLE Movie That Could NOT Have Come at a More Terrible Time

In this One Battle After Another review, I talk about how unlikeable the movie’s characters are, how ham-fisted its political takes are, and how weak the underlying story is. I really don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about how bad One Battle After Another is. Sure, the acting performances are pretty good, but they’re completely wasted on irredeemably awful characters. The movie’s style of cinematography is solid, but it’s wasted on a weak story. What I DO understand, is why the critics are tripping over themselves to praise this "masterpiece". After getting through this excruciating two-and-a-half-hour movie, I was genuinely shocked that the man behind this movie, Paul Thomas Anderson, was the same man behind There Will Be Blood. And to top it all off, this movie even has the sheer gall to romanticize acts of terror at a time where that’s the last thing we need. Even ISIS would be ashamed of this movie.
