Germany - Federal Administrative Court Could Undermine Broadcasting Fee. Oral proceedings in an appeal against Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting) will begin at 10 a.m. on October 1, 2025, before the Federal Administrative Court (BVerwG) in Leipzig. A large demonstration has been announced in front of the court. Epoch Times will be on site with reporters and will report live.

The official plaintiff, a woman from Bavaria who wishes to remain anonymous, also no longer wants to pay her broadcasting fee because, in her opinion, the public broadcasting supervisory bodies lack independence from the state, as the BVerwG explains on its website. In the plaintiff's opinion, the broadcasters not only serve "as agents of the prevailing state power in shaping public opinion," but also "do not offer a diverse and balanced program."

Depending on the ruling, this could have a major impact on the broadcasting fee. A second day of the hearing is scheduled for October 2.

"Switzerland is a wonderful country"
The video was posted on LinkedIn by Geneva Council of States member Mauro Poggia (66, MCG). He is enthusiastic and asks himself: "In which country in the world can parliamentarians from all political camps celebrate the joy of living in a democracy together at the end of a session?"
